This was a very good Christmas. I hope you all had a great one. The year is almost over too and I'm definitely ready for it to end. It's been a good year. I haven't really had a bad year in a very long time. So the big gift I got this year, so far, is a Silhouette Cameo 4. It's a cutting machine for making vinyls. I'm hoping to make car decals and hopefully sell some of my own art. Very exciting some of the stuff I might be able to make with it. I also pooled all my amazon cards and got myself a new grill for the jeep. It's also an angry grill, but this one is more aggressive than my other one. I will be making an all new blue mesh for it as well to protect my radiator from bugs. My Christmas cards are now New Years cards because I had to put them off for one reason or another. Well there's one day left in the year. I'll see if I can get them out or the majority out tomorrow.

Wingo's feathers are growing in, but I got really worried that a few days ago he bit his tumor and was bleeding. He's been chewing on and now has two new bumps. They are small but still, I was satisfied with it being benign but if he keeps this up it will want to heal and cancer is all about making too many new cells. I may have to stick him in a cone of shame. But so far it's ok. I bought a supplement called Feather fast. It has very good reviews. I have started to feed this with wet veggies. Wingo is my only bird that likes carrots. In fact his pale beak has turned orange. Looks like he's wearing lip stick. Orbitz is good too. She's spooky though and hasn't learned to step up in the cage. She gets scared in her cage of my hand unless I have a millet in it. Sigh, birds are all weird.

My frogs are all doing great. I officially have a male Santa Isabel Frog. He has a lovely song. So I might have a male and female since one is big and one is little. I don't know about the mint frogs yet. I hope they're not all females. I have been working on their new tank. I'm finally making progress on that. I've been carving and painting rock ledges and holders for plants. Hopefully it will be ready in a few more days. I'm literally waiting for paint to dry. Each coat takes about 24 hours so it's a slow process. And then gluing them with silicone takes 24 hours too per piece. Next time I order frogs I will save up for froglets. It's more expensive but no heart break and high loss at the tadpole to frog transition stage.

I finished my Bible reading early this year. I've been reading random chapters til the end of the year. So I will start counting again offically on Jan 1st. This time I will take my time. I didn't like reading in a year because 4 chapters a day is too fast. I don't get as much out of it and I forget things. My normal speed is 2 chapters a day which equals about a Bible in 2 years. I found a very nice print out that I can check of chapters individually instead of groups of chapters which caused me to lose my place. I can now say I've ready the Bible in a year though. Won't be doing that again.

And I'm very excited to start saving up for my new dog in the new year. I'm so ready for that. Though, I'm not going to like the puppy years. I don't like puppies but it will be worth it. So two years of annoyance and I should have an adult dog in 2024. Her name will be Olive. She'll be a black Olive ha hah.

Happy New Years everyone. My year was great. I posted about it on youtube. Here are the links to the two videos. Don't feel like coding to embed so just links.

https://youtu.be/ywPyzfxRy_Q

Oh man this is the first year in a long time I did not make cards. I'm still working on the art and will call them New Years cards so I can still get them in and not miss a year. But gosh yeah, if you watched those videos you see how busy I have been. Also I didn't even talk about everything that happened. I've forgotten a few things and there just wasn't time to talk about it all. I still need to do a haul video too. I got some Amazon cards like I wanted and ordered new running boards for my jeep. This will be a nice upgrade. Can't wait for them to arrive.

Those of you on LJ always get the news first of anywhere else. I'm just going to spoil the big project I have been working on. I'm working hard to convert my patio into a greenhouse. We've nearly got it ready for winter. We're temporarily adding vinyl on the outside using shower curtains. I got a great deal on like 8 shower curtains. On the inside I'm doing big bubble wrap for insulation. I only have one more panel to do.

This year is off to a great start. Some hens have been coming to our yard. I have been feeding them. One is very friendly and has been staying nearly the whole day. I've kind of tamed her. I've been feeding her meal worms and today I caught her and put her in the shed. I hope she decides to stay. We don't have a fence so we can't keep chickens from escaping. That's how they got in anyway since there's no fence. The she is no longer set up for chickens but I can make it nice that she can sleep in there if she wants to move in with me. I've been missing having hens so it would be nice if one came to live with me. I call her Henny.

Well looks like they haven't turned off flash on LJ yet as I was able to post this. So I cut the final vinyl panel and Christ can help me later add the grommets and install it. It's amazing because it does stay about 12 degrees warmer than the outside temps. It got to 30 two nights in a row and the patio stayed around 45 which was acceptable. Some orchids had to come in the house though. But we can put a heater out there on the coldest nights. I'm no longer worried about putting the birds out there when we get the ceiling done. Come spring we'll take everything down and install hard clear plastic roofing so next winter it will be even easier to install the bubbles for insulation. We'll have better visibility too with that stuff than with vinyl. I want to take everything apart because I want to paint the aluminum frame that held the screens. Chris helped me organize plants onto shelve by types. So we have a shelf for cactus and succulents and dormant plants. A shelf for nepenthes and orchids. And a shelf for hoyas. More sorting will be done later but things already look WAY better. I now realize I need more trays, both mesh trays and solid trays. I have been watching a channel for years now called Brad's Greenhouse. He has been a major inspiration for all of this.

I've started my Bible reading plan for the year too. I hope I can keep up with it and finish by Dec 31st. Last time I was too slow doing it in two years.

Last New Year's thing. I post a lot. Not happy about this result. It's not like a lot of people use LJ anyway I should have gotten a better result. If you post this make sure to copy and paste and edit the html. If you hit post it will force you to use the newer editor and your response page will look terrible.

Ok just finished this. I made lots of art this year but mostly traditional.

January: RipTalon, the captain from Triangulum Resistance.
February: Captain Ahab in Gregory Peck style. Or Lincoln style.
March: One of this year's commission pieces. A jeep wrangler. I also drew a bunch of vehicle doors. People ask for the weirdest things.
April: An uncolored drawing of Henrietta the Rhode Island Red hen I used to have.
May: A drawing from my Bible Journaling I made when rebels tried to over throw Moses. God opened up the earth and they were swallowed up tents and all.
Numbers 16:32 And the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and their houses, and all the men that appertained unto Korah, and all their goods.
June: A pic of Solan looking at his watch. I don't think he's ever been late for anything.
July: Empress Bullet from Triangulum Resistance.
August: Phage the budgie surprised.
September: Sorath with Planets.
October: Gord talking about defeating Fear. These last four are a series for a solitaire video game.
November: Scary Fear enjoying a beautiful Fall day.
December: Scary Fear as this year's Christmas cards. Hopes and Fears.
Bonus: The first drawing of last year. The cover of this year's Bullet journal. I modified his phrase to say "What powers will you give me this year?" Looking back on this now that's an amazing question I can now answer. This year was great. I made tons of art. Some of it didn't make the cut into this review. I got more commissions this year. And I made some actual physical art too like a mailbox, tail lights and a custom budgie hat. I'm sure I'm forgetting other accomplishments. This year was just packed. Kinda sorry to see it go. Hard to imagine a better year but I'm hoping for that and hope 2020 will be even better. We are the ones that make our time great or now. So be awesome.

And that reminds me. I've been wanting to share this video since Christmas but keep forgetting. Politically the year has been awesome too. Our nation has prospered. The economy is great. We're exporting oil and are the leader in oil for the whole world. We have helped out Israel which is a guaranteed blessing for us. The turkey pardon this year was funny. Always enjoy those. And Melania (sorry I spelled it wrong I know) Trump made the white house into a winter wonderland for Christmas. It is like a palace right now and a lovely mix of Christmas and Patriotic. Two things I love. Having the Trumps in power has been like having a good King and Queen for our nation. I hope they win the next election in the new year. They have our vote for sure. Anyway check out this lovely video. Oh and the song is funny but also nice at the same time. They took Trump's voice when he said these words in speeches and ran it through auto tune so it sounds like he's singing the song.

So I managed to get the year in review done yesterday. That was not easy as this year was so good despite the bad start. Though this year has been bad for pet deaths. Just found out yesterday a buddy on youtube lost a special talking budgie. It has just sucked. But yeah good bye 2019 you were great. I hope 2020 will be a good one too. Here is this year's Christmas greeting.

https://www.youtube.com/embed/MoTDeaVEKfw

I always have extra cards to make and send every time I think I am finished. I make a batch of around 20 cards but this year has been the busiest. I think I sent out nearly 40 cards. I need to take a count I'm not sure. He's a direct link to my card video.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N4w-jos4Uu8

I ordered a T-rex figure on Ebay and I was amazed. The lady that sent it to me went above and beyond the call of duty with amazing packaging and care. But not only that she added a Christmas card. That's such a personal touch. So I had to make one for her and send a few last second ones too for people that mentioned to me late they wanted some.
I won't be doing a haul post until probably the second week of the new year because I'm still getting packages slowly trickling in. One major thing I ordered is a new front bumper for my jeep. It should come this Friday. I hope so anyway.

Today I get to start on a new Bullet Journal. I'll be using the Mint colored one Kabuldur helped me get. I'm so used to my old my old one. This one feels very different. I am looking forward to seeing how it will get filled out. I also wonder if it will last the year or only partially. My old one had 128 pages. This one has 197 so it might make it through the whole year. We'll see.

I did have something annoying happen with my cactuses. One got invaded by a colony of sugar ants. I hate ants. I had to put everything out for now and set ant traps. It's winter so right now all of them are dry and not to be watered til spring. Repot should be done in spring too so I was waiting for that. Many are still in the pots from the store with bad soil. But I may have to do early repots because I have to get the stupid ants out of there. Ant traps aren't as effective as out right spraying but I handle these plants often so I don't want to risk it. And I had just added some very pretty rocks to some I really would hate to take them all apart and separate the rocks from the soil. Tonight might be a cold night and I have to bring things in. I have to check the weather but it's yucky cold out.

Oh my commission for the Bullet hat was a great success too.

1. What did you do this past year that you have never done before?
Flowered two Amorphophallus. Grew lotuses. Grew cactus late in the year. Custom Up mail box.

2. Did you keep your new years resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
YES but not the big ones. Got rid of the bulk of mom's stuff. Emptied garage. Traveled to a new place. Drew more.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
No thank goodness. Every child someone has I lose them as a friend for the next 18 years.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
This has been a crap day for pet deaths. I lost my beloved budgie Bullet in Feb to Cancer. I still miss her and find myself randomly calling her name like I used to when she was alive. I've never owned a pet that I've been there for from birth til death. I saw her hatch and I held her as she died. My closest friends who I call The Raptor pack have most lost a pet this year. Also buddies have lost pets. This has been the worst part of this year. But you know, despite that it has been an amazing year.

5. What new states or countries did you visit. If not new did you travel for fun?
No new states but in Sept we took a week off to go shelling on Sanibel Island FL. We totally enjoyed that. We took Minion the budgie with us. I'm so glad I did that.

6. What would you like to have in the new year that you lacked in this past year?
More money. I really don't lack for much. Life is amazing.

7. What dates from this year remain etched in your mind and why?
Feb 1st. Bullet's death. But I don't hate that month. I can't hate it. It's my anniversary month and Valentine's Day. Bullet lived longer than she was supposed to so I'm thankful for that. Thanksgiving was awesome. More on that later.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
This year is difficult to write for because everything was amazing. Getting rid of mom's junk. I'd say it's 95% gone. I call that a success. Jurassic Park bathroom even if for a short time.

9. What was your biggest failure?
Jurassic Bathroom was destroyed by "T-rex". Not being able to save for a major vacation.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Yes I had a few medical conditions I had to see a doctor for. Nothing serious but needed treatment. My health is so so but I push through and live life despite it.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
Oh man this is hard as I got lots of great stuff. Well the question says bought not was given as I also get random gifts throughout the year. OH I know. The best thing I bought this year was Minion the budgie. Tiny bird. Huge personality. I bought Minion to be a breeder. I hadn't intended to keep him as a pet at all. But at the time I didn't have room or a mate for him so I kept him in my room. He was a cowardly budgie and he bugged me. I didn't think he'd be any good so he's a breeder. But I started to work with him. About a month later I thought I heard him practicing words. I've had talking budgies before so I knew the sounds. I started working with him and eventually he tamed down and lost the fear. He turned into an inadvertant pet and I kept him. He has totally surprised me with how fun and smart he is.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
My friends have been great. I guess if I had to pick one it would be my neighbor helping me with my jeep.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled?
No one in particular. There are always jerks.

14. Where did most of your money go?
The usual I think. No actually I put a huge amount into the truck. That was a mile stone. I think I can pay it off in 2020.

15. What did you get really excited about?
This is a hard question. I got excited about so much this year. I got lots of plants this year and got very excited about growing lotus, nepenthes and lately cactus. I've been super excited watching Minion's vocabulary grow. Currently almost 140 words.

16. What do you wish you’d done more of?
Saving and travel. Going to the beach to shell and natural areas.

17. What do you wish you’d done less of?
Driving phobia. I'd have gotten out more if it weren't for that. There's a world waiting out there and the only one holding me back is me.

18. How did you spend Valentine's?
I bought a Mova globe on Valentine's.

19. How did you Spend Easter?
Painting my computer room. It was in progress at the time. Played with Nautica and Chris and I went to the dollar store. Nothing to special unfortunately but it was nice to be together.

20. How did you spend the 4th of July?
4th of July was great. We went to Tarpon Springs and staked out a parking spot early. Alex met us there for a short time then we watched the fireworks at night. Lovely sunset and beautiful ocean.

21. How did you spend Halloween?
Halloween was slow. Not as good as last year up north and dressing up as Fear. This year I think we were home. Apparently I didn't write about it on my main LJ even. There's a small footnote in my Bullet Journal. The biggest thing was we went to a bon fire at Mike's house. That was kind of nice. Chris's birthday was more special this year than Halloween. Seems in Oct we celebrate either Halloween or Birthday more. Kinda like Feb is either Valentine's or Anniversary. So this year it was a focus on birthday. I went nuts and blew the budget on Chris's gifts. I got hime awesome stuff like a new keyboard he loves to this day, a yeti mic, and I can't even remember what else. Tons of cool stuff.

22. How did you spend Thanksgiving?
Best Thanksgiving EVER! We stayed home and had time to ourselves. I had the house decent enough to decorate. Pulled out the inflatable turkey. We watched videos about jeeps and Tacomas. The coolest thing was that evening I decked out the jeep in Christmas lights and we drove around the Publix parking lot. Chris had so much fun and other people loved the jeep.

23. How did you spend Christmas?
Since the budget was blown on Chris's birthday I couldn't do much for Christmas. I only got him piddly things like phone cables, tags for USB drives and other small nerdy things like that. Mostly electronics cables for stuff. Oh yeah a fancy HDMI. We went to a family get together. I don't do well at those things. I react badly to groups of people larger than four, counting myself. But it wasn't bad.

24. What was your favorite TV program?
Chris and I discovered Cobra Kai. We watched all the seasons and loved it. We could relate so much to Johnny who was the bad guy in the orginal Karate kid. He's now the main character and the show is so 80's. I also like it because he's no nonsense tell it like it is. It's too bad it ended weird and we don't know if another season will be made. It sucks when good shows get cancled on a cliff hanger. It happens way too much.

25. Did you make any enemies this year?
I always make enemies because I tell it like it is and don't back down. I also stand for the truth and people in this day and age hate the truth.

26. Did you read any new books. If so which did you like best?
I read Florida's Fabulous Seashells, The Sanibel Kelidescope and currently reading Cacti and Succulents by Hewitt. I liked The Sanibel Kelidesope a lot. The author spoke of his experiences and people he's met. I always enjoy reading about successful people.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Nothing major this year I don't think.

28. What did you want and get?
Several things. I got a new awesome microphone. Got a new computer. Well basically a new office. Room got repainted, new desk, computer, chair and book shelves. I LOVE my room so much now. It has really become my sanctuary. So I guess all new stuff for my office.

29. What did you want and not get?
Saving up for a big vacation.

30. Did you see any new movies this year? And if so which did you like best?
Nothing special this year.

31. What did you do on your birthday?
Birthday was great. Chris took me to St. Pete to a shell shop and bought me lots of cool shells. We went to a nursery but they didn't have any cool plants I was into. Then we ate at Alexander's Steak House. That was delicious. It was a very good day.

32. What is one thing that would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Nothing really. This has been a spectacular year really.

33. Did you meet anyone new you became good friends with?
I've made lots of new buddies online. I've also made aquaintences with a few neighbors and businesses in the real world. This year I have sent out way more Christmas cards than ever. It's crazy. So technically I have more "friends" now than I have in recent years.

I had some friends over too which was very special. Peregrine visited for a few days in June. We've lived in our house a little over a decade and this is the first time we've had a guest stay with us. We had a great time driving to Pinelllas, watching movies, drawing, playing with budgies and just typical nerd stuff.
Then in November ACTipton80 visited me for a few days too but stayed in their own hotel. She and her mom came and we had a very nice time doing the same activites I mentioned with Peregrine.

34. What video game obsessions did you have this year if any?
Subnautica. I spent decent amount of hours playing that. Even named my bird after the game. Nautica.

35. Was your online time good, bad , same compared to last year?
Online this year has been great.

36. What hobbies did you improve, start or work more on this year? Basically how was your creativity this year?
I started growing lotus and cactus this year. I did well with the lotuses. They are dormant right now and I'm waiting to see if they come back next year. Then I'll know it has been a success. But summer was awesome with the blooms and the pools. I'm new to cactus. Been at it only a month or less. So I can't way if I am good with them yet. Winter is the easy part. No water at all. Spring and summer wil be the test because that's when I have to water carefully. I hope I can do it.

I had a lot of custom art done this year. I made a custom mailbox based on the Up mailbox. It has the hands and says Chris and Des on it. I had tail lights with the Scary Fear logo made for my jeep. That is just awesome. I had a hat made that looks like Bullet the Budgie. So these things have been very cool.

37. Which holiday did you enjoy most this year?
Thanksgiving and Chris's birthday for sure.

38. If there's something not by covered by the questions you would like to add about this past year you may do so here. Happy New Year.
This year has been amazing. I didn't travel as much as I would have liked. But we loved our Sanible trip. It was beautiful and I had fun hunting down shells and walking the beaches. Finding quiet areas to ourselves was the best part. Our hotel was great. We had a little house almost all to ourselves. I bought a bunch of Bibles this year and have two I really like. One is a reading Bible and one is a travel one. I have completed my first Bullet Journal this year and will start a new book in January. That is exciting.

Last Year's Resolutions met?
* Finish getting rid of mom's stuff. I'm gong to say YES on this one. There was so much. To large storage units full of junk. 95% of it is gone. I have emptied the garage and we own less stuff now. Still working on it but it's better. the end is in sight.
* Travel more somewhere new. Well Yes sort of. Sanible was definitely new but it wasn't far.
* Face my phobia and drive more. I will come back to this and tally the miles. I don't think I did well with this.
* Meet more raptors in person. I've met almost all of them now. Maybe next year.
* Draw more finish a comic. Eehhh, I drew a lot this year, but didn't finish any comics. So half yes.
* Tag LJ. No. I think I need to give up on this. I've failed this one every year.
* Grow veggies indoors or out. Uh yes and no. I did it. I actually set up gardens and shelves. But it all failed. I suck at vegetables or it's just the weather in the state.
* Manage money better. No. This needs work. 2020 will be better.
And I also failed to meet one of the three big things for the year. Need to work on my focus.

Resolutions
* Finish door art for the jeep
* Save for the anniversary vacation in 2021
* Get Minion to 300 words
* Finish a comic (This will be hard)
* Travel somewhere new. (always a goal. Near or far)
* Drive more with less fear.

Ok I think that's enough. All lofty goals. So the start of a new decade. YAY. I'm ready for it. Ready for the new year. I wonder if I should do a decade in review?
thagirion: (Default)
The year is off to an exciting start so far. Yesterday we went to AAA and book our Alaska Cruise. We'll be going on Norwegian. First time on that cruise line. I know it won't be as good as Royal Caribbean but I look forward to it anyway. It's over a year away in 2020 so I have time to get ready for it. I've done a lot of research and will keep doing more. I love looking stuff up, watching videos and learning new things. I hope I get the wardrobe right when we got. I know it's Cold in Alaska, and possibly even snow. Definitely rain. I'm just way more cold sensitive than most so I have to make sure I'm comfortable. What someone thinks is a warm jacket may be too cold for me. I've also never done a flight like this but nothing can be done yet because no airlines can be booked that far in the future yet. Intersting cruises book years in advance but not flights. So I'll have to wait a few months to figure that one out. My travel agent will help me with that too. She is nice and was very happy to see us come in. I gave her one of my cards.

Speaking of cards, I got some new international stamps and I should finally be done with the last few international stamps. I hope they all make it.
Today I plan to work on my Bullet Journal. I have chosen a theme for January. Moby Dick. I love that story and apparently whales are easy for me to draw. I hope I can draw Captain Ahab though. He looks like Abraham Lincoln. Just do a search for Gregory Peck Captain Ahab so see the most famous look for him. And I need to come up with an interesting pose for George for my cover of the year. I'm still not sure what.

Last night I had a scare. I heard a crashing sound in one of the other rooms. Chris went to go look and some of his shelves with his kaiju had fallen over. The ones on his west wall. That sucks. He's going to have to put them back together. Makes no sense why they'd fall when they've been fine all these years. It's a lot of figures and DVD's to pick up and organize. So the year has been exciting.

Cards are done! Woo hoo! I love it when I meet a goal.
.
thagirion: (Default)
So today is January 1st. The year is off to a very good start for me. Chris only got one job today and they let him off early. I was so happy he came home in the afternoon. We then went out to dinner. Yesterday we celebrated by listening to Spanish Christmas and New Years songs from my childhood. I translated a lot of them for him and had fun looking up Spanish words I heard every year but never knew what they meant. Lots of fireworks went off in our neighborhood at midnight.

I also started working on my Bullet Journal again yesterday. I did my best to finish December in one day. Not happening. Even with the simplified layout I made I could not finish it. I love the cover I made for it though with Fear and the motto being "The Hopes and FEARS of all the YEARS". Today I worked on the inking and finished the layout finally but still am not finished. I don't know if I'll have time to work on it tomorrow but I'm sure with one more day I can finish it. I missed my November video update because of this. It's not finished either but it's laid out. It just needs to be colored. I want to finish December then do a flip through of 2018. All three months of it.

And I already have a dilema. I need a new cover drawing for 2019. Remember the old one was Bullet on a 2018 banner. Chris suggested George. I'm not against that, but what would he be doing? What pose? AND I also need a cover idea for January itself. Any ideas for that? Please comment. I also have to pick a theme for January. Hum one of my theme ideas was Solan and George so that could work. Here are some other themes I have considered.
Nepenthes, SpongeBob, Jurassic Park, Jeeps, Moby dick and Stunt Scabs. Probably most of you won't know what the last one is. The Stunt Scabs were the villains from an obscure 90's cartoon called Stunt Dawgs that was very smart. Lots of play on word and intelligent humor. Most likely why the show did so poorly. Too fast and too intelligent for the audience. One of my all time fave shows. So yes please comment. I do need some help coming up with two cover ideas for the 2019 page and the January page.

And tomorrow I'm excited. We might be booking a cruise. Wish me luck on that. It's only 2019 by I'm alraedy thinking about 2020 which is when I want this to take place. It's so far in the future I can't even book a flight if we get this. An Alaska cruise. One of my dream destinations. I can then cross that off my bucket list. I really do have a bucket list. It's in one of my idea notebooks. I have always been a long term goal setter. So that's the plan for tomorrow and then the rest of the day off. The year is off to a great start. Hope it keeps going this way.

I am feeling sooo much better now. I can safely say I am over being sick. It's nice to have a normal energy level again. Christmas gifts are still slowly trickling in for me. So soon I think I can do the part 2 haul photo. Well I'm almost done with cards. Here are a bunch that went out yesterday.

That's about half of them. I need to send out about that many more still. But everyone here on LJ will get theirs. I updated my address book after doing this because it's both funny and annoying to see so many former friends on there from over the years that have either turned traitor, I've had to dump or just disappeared without a trace. So new book for the new year and up to date. New friends too so it always balances out. Out with the old in with the new is the famous phrase.

I made a cute little print out of the Books of the Bible on a shelf. It's a check list for if you want to read the whole thing you can do so out of order. You can dowload and print it at home HERE. Save the image then open it in your picture viewer and it should have an option to print. Chris has gotten far and colored in the New Testament. Chris's page. This is how you view it. You can color the shelf too. He's already further than this. Here's Mine. I've only just started so only four books for me so far. I'm on Psalms now which is the biggest book so it will be a while before I color another one. I'll post these again when they are finished. I have read the Bible through twice back when I was in high school.

My Art Year In Review.

January we have the presentation of a new character The Doctor. I hope to draw him more soon.
February. No colored art but I made this sketch based on a lovely dream I had where both Chris and I were my character Fear. Well, this is the month I had my second surgery so not much art was made. Gosh I can't believe that was this year. Seems way longer than that. Had gall stones so I had my gall bladder removed and I was in bed for several weeks.
March Conspiracy of Fear . The remake of my masterpiece. I fixed this drawing up. The biggest changes were the green mouth plus added more colored highlights. I'm still working on this piece for something special.
April Alone in Fear . At last this is finished. A drawing I made last year as a gift for my aunt. Inspired by the lovely forest and rivers on her property.
May I AM FEAR Several remakes. The major change to this and most of them is adding in his green mouth.
June Fear In The Sky This piece turned out so nice I have many plans for it still. Fear greets the sunrise from the mountains.
July Fear Amused My thank you card I toss in as a bonus for people the I do commissions for, that I have done business with or that I just want to say thanks to.
August Terror In Waiting A mood piece that turned out nicer than expected. He has become my water mark on some pieces.
September No Hard Feelings Easily one of my all time fave pieces now for the vibrant colors and how frightening these two are.
October Fear and Death Halloween 2018 My fave drawing from my Bullet Journal. The main piece of the last week of Oct. Fear and his brother death.
November Got You Buddy This is also a fave of this year. I love this part of the Triangulum game story. George rescues Fear.
December This year's Christmas card. The winter version of Fear in the Sky for mailing out. I should get those today so I can start sending them out to everyone.
Bonus. The cover of my Bullet Journal. Appropriate that it features Bullet.

Ok so time for the New Year's Questionnaire. I love filling this out every year. I will post the blank version again. The old one is here and on DA but we might need a more recent one that's easier to find than going through the tags. Also I have added new questions as many holidays where left out.

1. What did you do this past year that you have never done before? Saw the Fall leaves. As Floridians that was a new and wonderful experience for us.

2. Did you keep your new years resolutions, and will you make more for next year? Yes and No. I kept some but not others. More on that at the end. Yes I will make new ones. I'm a goal setter. I'm constantly setting goals not just for new years. My J nature makes that easy.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth? No thank goodness. I don't need to lose more friends. They'd be gone for 18 years.

4. Did anyone close to you die? Just some of my birds. Sadly Optic my sweet blue budgie girl passed away. I do miss her.

5. What new states or countries did you visit. If not new did you travel for fun? Nothing new but we went to Georgia and North Carolina again in the Fall. We had a blast going to my aunt's house. Seeing the leaves, and seeing ACTipton80. That was the only big trip this year really.

6. What would you like to have in the new year that you lacked in this past year? I don't know. More money. Can never have enough of that. But I haven't lacked much. I've been quite good. Lots to be thankful for.

7. What dates from this year remain etched in your mind and why? The Trip at the end of October. It's the highlight of the year for me.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? Cleaning out the garage and getting the jeep inside. Major goal met. Woo. I'm still very proud of myself over that one. Oh and attaining one of my mother's assets.

9. What was your biggest failure? Probably not being able to get rid of my mother's stuff still.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury? Yes. In February I had to go to the ER again for pain. I had gall stones and had my gall bladder removed. Two surgeries at the start of each new year. I don't want this to be a trend. I also got a cold in December. It had been over a year since I had a cold. It knocked me down for two weeks.

11. What was the best thing you bought? Hum, what I bought and what others bought me is a big blur this year. I'm not really sure. Perhaps my Fear mask. It was expensive but so worth the cost. I'm still working on it and it has turned out great. Still a work in progress.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration? Well all my awesome friends in the Raptor Pack. You guys are great. Actiption, Joker, Samantha, Kabuldur, basically if you got a card from me this year you rock. My real life friends and family too.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled? No one. At least no one in my inner circle. Helps when you get rid of the bad eggs. This year has been great socially.

14. Where did most of your money go? Amazon. Not just for me but for gifts I got others too.

15. What did you get really excited about? My trip. Every year when there is a trip it's what I look forward to more than anything.

16. What do you wish you’d done more of? Traveling. Organizing the house. Drawing though I managed to fill out the whole year with art though just barely.

17. What do you wish you’d done less of? Wasting time. I did a lot this year but could have done even better.

18. How did you spend Valentine's? Hum, I don't remember. February we either celebrate the 4th which is our anniversary or Valentine's. Usually depends on what is closer to a day off for us. Unfortunately nothing big. I think we just got each other gifts. Oh wait we didn't do anything. That's the month I had surgery and was down. No wonder I don't remember much. Well we have to make up for that this February then....I hope.

19. How did you Spend Easter? And I think I still wasn't well for Easter either as I don't think we did anything big unfortunately.

20. How did you spend the 4th of July? Ha, by July I was fairly recovered and we had a great 4th of July. We went to Fred Howard Park and watched the fireworks. https://thagirion.livejournal.com/980364.html

21. How did you spend Halloween? Halloween was awesome. It was our trip up north. We got to see the Fall leaves. I visited ACTipton. I brought Bullet with me though she was sick. I dressed up as Scary Fear and made a very nice music video of him. My costume was cool. We bought pumpkins in Georgia at Burt's Pumpkin Patch. The highlight of the year with the 4th being a close second.

22. How did you spend Thanksgiving? We had a quiet Thanksgiving at home. I was much better and decorated the house all nice. At least the small space I have in the kitchen. I found my inflatable turkey and we watched the turkey pardon. https://thagirion.livejournal.com/997568.html

23. How did you spend Christmas? Christmas was great. We went to visit Chris's parents and family. We got lots of gifts. We had a very nice time. Then the next day we had a quiet Christmas. Opened our own gifts and those of friends. Then that evening we visited Mike at his party which was a last minute invitation.

24. What was your favorite TV program? Travelers. I think I discovered that last year but season 3 finally came out this year and we enjoyed it very much. It ended well and we hope it's over actually because we don't want them to screw it up. Leave well enough alone. Funny enough I've started watching the cartoon Spirit. Based on the Dreamworks movie. I love that movie. The TV show doesn't have good art but I think I like it. Can't say yet but will watch more eps.

25. Did you make any enemies this year? Nope but old enemies have been replaced and then some.

26. Did you read any new books. If so which did you like best? Well Joker gave me the Jurassic Park Employee Handbook. I don't think I'll finish it in two days...well I guess I could but I'm reading that.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery? The new Victorius Album Dinosaur Warefare. Also finally getting a hold of the SpongeBob soundtrack. The background music not the dumb incomplete CD's they officially have out. The instrumental stuff really helps make the show.

28. What did you want and get? Oh gosh lots of stuff. Let's see. 150 prisma colored pencils, Mosasaur figure, grow lights, backpacks, Bullet Journal, and a bunch of other cool stuff. Not just for Christmas but over the whole year.

29. What did you want and not get? The Ian Malcolm book. It got pulled from Amazon for copyright reasons. The jerks. A headset stand that got discontinued. A Bible I can't quite afford just yet. And a replacement for my truncata F plant.

30. Did you see any new movies this year? And if so which did you like best? I saw Venom in the theaters with Chris. That was good. But I don't really watch movies much anymore in theaters.

31. What did you do on your birthday? I got a custom Fear cake. Almost forgot about that. That was awesome!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NQ53UiqXYDA

32. What is one thing that would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? Looking back this has been an awesome year. I guess traveling more and meeting my other friends. I think about that a lot. I got spoiled by the 2017 road trip to Canada to see CVersailles.

33. Did you meet anyone new you became good friends with? Not anyone new in real life but I met Peregrine in September I think it was. We only had a few hours but it was our second meeting and we had a great time. Her and I have become closer friends and we really enjoyed each others' company. It was such a fun day driving around and doing fun things at my house. I have lots of new online friends though. Me a buddy on youtube that I trade plants with.

34. What video game obsessions did you have this year if any? Red Dead Redemption 2. I had not expected that to happen. Chris pre-ordered it and was all excited. I really didn't care since an ex friend a few years ago had ruined the first game for me. But I watched Chris play when he finally got his. Unfortunately he didn't like the game but I was hooked and wanted to see more from the little he played. And then Peregrine got it and kept talking about it on texts. So I started my own game and have been playing ever since. We make the joke that it's as though Chris got it for me. Plus the fact the way I have Arthur dressed, and how he sounds and his personality is just like George. Yeah I'm loving this game and how much better it looks on the new consoles.

35. Was your online time good, bad , same compared to last year? Good and better.

36. What hobbies did you improve, start or work more on this year? Basically how was your creativity this

year?
I got into Bullet Journaling. I got out of it during my vacation but hope to do better with it this new year. It's a lot of fun making your own planner, setting goals and putting in your own art. Now with my new pencils this should help a lot. And I blame this on Peregrine but I participated in inktober for the first time and actually finished it. I drew something each day, even on my trip, on index cards.

37. Which holiday did you enjoy most this year? Halloween and Chris's birthday. Close second was 4th of July.

38. If there's something not by covered by the questions you would like to add about this past year you may

do so here. Happy New Year
Hum, I think I have covered everything. I can always edit if I forget.

Last Year's Resolutions

* Get jeep in the garage. YES!! Finished before October I think.
* Get rid of mother's junk and our excess junk. No. Came so close. I got sick two weeks in December and this got really screwed up. I think we could have done it. We cleared out more room in the garage and then that happened.

Resolutions for 2019

* Finish getting rid of mother's stuff and possibly ours by April 1. I think that's a good time frame and don't need a whole year to finish. Could give myself more time but enough's enough already.
* Travel more. Try to do a road trip on my own again.
* Face my driving phobia. This one is kind of related to the top one if I take another road trip. I hope I can. It's harder now and all in my head.
* Meet more Raptors in person.
* Draw more. Make more comics. Finish Renegade and Dawn of Fear.
* Finish tagging LJ for pete's sake.
* Grow veggies either indoors or out. Grow tomatoes and chives.
* Manage my money better. Save more for the big goals like...
* New Tires and Wheels
* New door art or JP
* Fear Wings

Ok that's enough as those are major goals. The last three I don't have to do all of them but so long as I do one of those it would be good. All very expensive so I can probably only do one.

This have been going pretty well this month. I'm still dealing with house issues though. Chris and I have been working hard to clean up our house and make room for the furniture we want to bring over here. I do want to make this house look as nice as the other house. Though there's less stuff this house might be harder because we have nowhere to put stuff. All we do is keep rotating the mess and the stuff in our house that's my mother's that didn't fit in the storage units. I ordered a two hitch for my Jeep though. The first real customization for it. Called tire kingdom but they won't install it. They got a new manager a few months ago and I have not liked him at all. He's been rude and snooty to me on sight. I don't know what his problem is. I don't believe they won't do it. It's not hard with the right tools. You remove the bumper, put it on, put bumper back on and wire through the tail lights. If I could do it myself I would but I don't have the lift, the tools or the strength. I need it done for me. So I called the dealership instead. I need to go for my first oil change and I got a recall thing in the mail. I asked if they can install the hitch and they said yes no problem. Very nice lady on the phone and so far I'm happy with the service from this place. Not as awesome as Toyota's but better than the new jerk running Tire Kingdom. I miss the old crew there that was so nice.

Anyway point of this is that with a hitch perhaps I can borrow Mike's trailer and transport some of the furniture.
Chris and I opened the NutriBullet we found at the other house and have been loving it. We've been making fruit and veggie smoothies with it and it's fun experimenting putting in different stuff. This is the version we got.

There's also one that comes with all the cups but that's somewhere in storage.
Chris took the Sony soundbar from that house and has been enjoying it on his system. The playstation sounds great on it. We played Batman on it and wow it was cool the crisp sound.
And I finally got to play with the new GoPro my mother in law gave me for Christmas. I'm still getting used to it. It's different but I think I will like it way better than the old one. Biggest complaint is the screen shuts off. Perhaps that is a setting I can fix somewhere. I haven't made any movies worth uploading yet. But I will. And I finally have time so I've made some art. I finished the next page of Fear Before the Fall so it's nice to make art again. I'll post that later. And I've finally been going through my photos and can enjoy the cruise I have so few memories of. The photos and video will help me remember and finalize those memories in my mind. I've started to post those to DA and it's been very enjoyable. Almost done with the photos from the NC trip.

And good news on the laptop front. I had ordered a battery for mine that did not work right. I finally ordered another that came off the same laptop as mine this way I know it's right. They had it disclosed that it only works for a half hour. I think when new it was an hour battery. But I don't care so long as it works because I run it through the power cord anyway. I need my laptop working as I might be traveling a lot this year. More on that in a bit. Chris's laptop had lost its power cord and I was worried because that's where I had all the cruise photos. But during our clean up of the bedroom Chris found it. So now I have transferred everything to my external drive and been looking for what to upload. So now both our laptops are back in business.

So yes this year I might travel. I hope I can do a road trip to Canada in spring. April would be great to go up there for the Spring migration and to visit my friend Gamma-wings. We've been talking about me visiting her for two years now. I hope it will be this year but we'll see how finances are and things are still iffy with the house and legal stuff on this end. Chris is encouraging me to do it. He wants me to get away and that I need a real vacation. I am thankful for his support. I want to do this but part of me is afraid I admit. The whole drive into the unknown and border crossing does scare me a bit. I've already looked into all the legalities and will consult my travel agent if I do this.

The other trip may be much sooner. We have to decide if we will celebrate Feb 4 this year or Feb 14 Valentine's day. This year will be our 21st anniversary. It has to be somewhere close so within Florida so Chris doesn't miss too much work. I'm thinking I want to go to Cape Coral to go see the burrowing owls. Want to see those for my life list. So that's a possibility. I need to run this by him.

Then there's the solar eclipse this year in the United States. Might be my chance to see one in my life time. Aug 21, 2017. Here's info on it.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solar_eclipse_of_August_21,_2017

Looks like Carbondale Illinois is the place to be so that's where I want to go. An ugly city and I may fly there. Not worth the road trip I don't think.

Lastly I'm very likely going to Spain in the Fall. No set date yet but we'll see how that goes. So yes very exciting year.
