There is a famous hymn called It Is Well With My Soul written by Horatio Spafford. This song has touched many lives over the centuries because it is taken straight out of the scriptures. When a song uses scriptures properly it is so blessed and becomes powerful because you are singing the words of God. Another thing that impresses me is the history of this song and how it is steeped in tragedy. I have no doubt that there was a Satanic influence at work trying to stop this song from getting out. I am glad that [livejournal.com profile] calzephyr77 talked about this. I had posted this song in the past but now want to break down verse by verse what it means and the origin of the lyrics found in the Bible. So here is a very good version that's powerful you can listen to.

Repentance is the next thing I want to talk about after having made the post about you have to believe that the Bible is the one true and perfect Word of God. Repentance is so important and sadly in this age churches don't teach it because they're afraid it will put people off and empty seats. As one pastor puts it, I'd rather scare you into heaven that flatter you into hell. Repentance is the first step towards salvation and if you're already saved it's what keeps you In favor with God. Hence the title of this post "Repent or Go To Hell" for the unbelievers or "Repent or be out of favor with God" for the saved believers. Now this goes for everyone because we're all sinners even if you are saved.

Romans 10:3 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

I'm going to talk about this first step to getting saved then I will talk about it for the saved believers. So every person that has ever lived or will live is a sinner. And for that we all deserve death and hell.

Romans 10:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death;

God is perfect and can not allow even a tiny sin into heaven. Sin is sin. Whether you commit murder or you tell a small white lie you deserve death and hell. And it gets worse. There is NOTHING you can do to save yourself or anyone else BECAUSE you are a sinner. You are imperfect, flawed, evil and wicked. No one is "good". And any work you can try to do to be "good" like giving money, being baptized, going to church, rescuing babies from burning buildings. None of that will save you because your other sins are far too great.

Isaiah 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

Our righteousnesses are as filthy rags in the eyes of the Lord. That means all our "good deeds". They are filthy rags that amount to nothing.

But here's the good news. The rest of the Romans 6:23 goes on.

but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

God loved us so much He gave us His son to die in our place. Because Jesus was perfect he can take the punishment for every sin you have and will commit. But notice it is a gift. It is a choice. We have to accept the gift or you're still on your way to hell. And that begins with repenting. I once knew someone, we'll just call her Prodigal Pery, that told me she didn't believe Jesus would say that. Pery didn't read her Bible much. She had one so there's no excuse. The first word Jesus preached was "REPENT!" after spending 40 days fasting in the wilderness.

Mathew 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

It's so bad repentance isn't taught much anymore. People don't even know what it means. It means to be sorry for. You need to be sorry and acknowledge you're a wicked sinner not worthy of God's gift of eternal life. You're sorry of the things you've done, lying, cheating, stealing and worse. It's so bad you probably don't even know you're sinning. If you say bad words, if you get angry with out just cause, if you are needlessly afraid all the time, if you dress unbecomingly...and these are what people would think are "little sins." Well here is a list of "big" sins.

1 Corinthians 6:9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.


But the great thing in this verse is that he's preaching to believers that are already saved. They used to do these wicked things but they believed on Christ and were saved. I'm going to give the next two points on salvation quickly in case you do not know. So step one is Repent, acknowledge you're a sinner deserving of Hell. And you can not fake repentance. You can not lie to God. If you are not truly sorry it will not count.

Galations 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

So 1. Repent.
2. Believe Jesus died for you specifically (Fill in your full name here) and rose again on the third day defeating death and hell and he was raptured up to heaven.
3. Confess with your mouth that you believe this and you want Jesus in your life to clean up your sins. That you will follow his ways and follow what the Bible has laid out. That's it it's that easy.

Ok but what if you're already saved? What of this repentance then? The day you got saved you likely already sinned within the hour. You need to ask God daily for forgiveness, not because you're going to hell. No, once saved always saved. NOW is when those good deeds finally count. You will get rewards in heaven for your deeds. But the main reason is that if you're not in favor with God you are not in a relationship. He will not listen to your prayers. You have to confess your sins to Him that you are sorry. Now this is not the corrupted catholic version of confession. They wrongly want you to confess to a man. Well that man is just as flawed and sinful (probably more so) than you are. Man has no authority to forgive sins. Again that is why Christ died and rose again for you because he is perfect. No blemishes. Remember what I said about we can not save ourselves or anyone else. The other wrong thing catholics teach is you have to say every sin in a huge list. If you can't remember them just ask for Jesus' blood to wash away your sins. That you really mean it, you know you did wrong during the day. You had a bad thought, something slipped out of your mouth or whatever. You can even feel it. You know you messed up. Jesus is there to carry your burden for you. You will sin, you will screw up. You could screw up big time. The point is we try to be better, by reading the Bible and trying to do what it says. But Christ's sacrifice covers even the screw up you'll make in the future.

Because you are a sinner and you may not even realize it at times is why the Bible is so powerful and can see through you to convict you. You need to feel bad so you can be sorry and repent. You don't dwell on it after you are forgiven you thank the Lord for his amazing grace that you don't deserve and try again. God finds way to convict carnal and way ward saints. Yes we are all saints too once we do the three easy steps to salvation. Don't let those wicked catholics tell you only "special" people are saints that have "super powers" or are flying nuns. But the Bible is not the only thing God will use to convict you. It could be a pastor that preaches the perfect sermon that was almost tailor made for you and you realize you need to get right. A friend once told me if you aren't squirming in church then you're in a bad church. Prodigal Pery also once told me "Religion shouldn't make me feel bad." Well I guess she's right...if you follow a "religion" which you should not. The Bible tells you not to do that. Following Christ is not a religion. God hates pointless rituals he never asked for. Being a Christian, a true Bible believer, is a relationship. God has always wanted to have a relationship with us. Many times you hear in the Bible something like, "I will be their God and they will be my people." God wants to walk among us. Ever since the Garden of Eden.

Genisis 3:8 And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.

Notice how sin caused them to run away and hide. If you do not repent and get the sin issue sorted it hinders the relationship with God. Amazing how they were in the presence of God. This is also what subconsciously man wants without even knowing. All are seeking a place to belong, to be accepted to finally rest. All through human history and the answer is Jesus. Prodigal Pery used to say her prayers got answered. I doubt that with all that was visible in her life. It's very bad when you can't tell that a person is a Christian or an unbeliever because no fruit shows in their life. They tell you they are but everything they say or do makes you doubt. Another way God convicts you is through other believers. That good friend that tells you what you need to hear not what you want to hear.

Proverbs 27:6 Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.

And of course if you read your Bible that will convict you. It's why many Christians don't' read and avoid it because the Bible will look right through you. You can hide nothing from God and it will remind you of your sins that you need to repent of.

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

The word "quick" in old English means ALIVE. The Wod of God is ALIVE. When you read it it is reading you. I have been put under conviction just from reading. But you know what? I LOVE the truth. I think I was gifted to be born with a love of the truth. I don't want people to sugar cover things for me even if it's bad news. I hunger for truth and want to know more even if it is hard. For this reason it does not scare me and I actually expect to be put to conviction. You need that healthy fear of the Lord that gives confidence. Read your Bibles people if you are not. That goes for me too. I try to read even at least one chapter a day. We are supposed to read daily, it is our daily bread.

Mathew 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

This is Jesus responding directly to Satan btw.

So repentance is very important in our daily life as born again believers. It is necessary for our relationship and walk with Christ. I am going to link to two videos that will help with this. One is from Behold Isreal's Young Adults Bible Study. It's funny to me. Prodigal Pery is just a great example of what not to do as a Christian. She claimed she used to be "racist" but now changed. Well THAT issue I never saw. Someone lied to her. She wasn't racist but you know what she was; guilty of age discrimination. She thought "old" people didn't know anything. And also that "young people" don't get into this. Foolish, ignorant young person with no life experience. The Bible tells us to respect our elders because they are full of wisdom. As for young people don't do this, well this single class proves her wrong as this is a class for people in their 20s from all over the world. It's a zoom meeting that fills up often with 300 people. I can't stand idiots that flap their lips quoting people they know nothing about, who have no source of their own. So repent. The end is Near more than ever. The church will be raptured soon and after that if you're left behind the salvation plan will change and it will be way more difficult to be saved. This is the age of grace and it is almost over.

I'm very excited to have finally finished reading my Bible all the way through. I want to say "Cover to Cover" but I didn't read it in order. Still, looking at the dates it has taken me two years. That's not good. I was doing two chapters a day and I realize now just how huge of a book the Bible is. So to finish in a year I think it has to be four chapters a day. So here is my little book shelf all finally filled in.



I made an updated version since it has a few mistakes. Mainly I hadn't separated Major from Minor Prophets. I also added a start and end date so if you print this you can write that down. So this is free to use. Download and print your own by right click and save.



So this is the first of a series of post I will make explaining things in the Bible like the Bible itself, Repentance, Salvation, How to judge others, dispensation and other things that I feel need to be clarified. After breaking off with that false Christian I will be making example of many of the wrong things she said and did as they will make for good teachings on what not to do. The Bible is full of examples and even mentions this.

1 Corinthians 10:11 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

All the things is referring too the disobedience and sin the Jews committed in Exodus against God after he had saved them from Egypt. In the previous chapters Paul talks about what we should not do.

Now about the Bible itself. To quote Pastor Kim.
"We believe the King James Bible is the pure and perfect Word of God. We believe Everything in it is Perfect. Because if you don't then you have no final authority to find out which is right and which is wrong. If you believe a Bible has mistakes in it, how do you not know the mistaken word that you're reading from is teaching the right doctrine? One word can make a big difference."

I also believe, know, that every language has a perfect version because God sent his Word for us to find. God does not hide things but brings them to light. Satan is the one that hides in darkness and covers things up. The fact that the Bible is Final and Absolute should also be a source of comfort and strength, not of fear. The person that claimed to be a Christian didn't believe in the Bible. And THAT was the root of all problems. With no sure foundation to stand on everything is questionable, you can't trust anything and you live in fear not knowing where to turn. Yes this is true. So why would the world want this and push for this? This person claimed to be a Christian but Christ did not show in her life. In two years she'd born NO fruit. The fruit they bore was no different than before: fear, anxiety, depression, idolatry, feared death and disbelief in the Bible itself.

Here is the thing. Before you can even get saved you HAVE to believe in the Bible. You have to or you can't believe on Jesus and on his Word, and rejecting sin and false religions and repentance. If you dont' believe the Bible you can't believe the story of Jesus or anything else in there and you can not be saved because you do not believe. You are lost and your a condemned and that's awful. Jesus and the Bible are one because Jesus IS the Word.

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.


Anytime you see "Word" in the Bible you can replace it with Jesus and it still reads the same.

Now some people say, "you can't trust a book written by 40 different authors over hundreds of years" Ah, but that's the very reason that you CAN trust it. The fact it was written by at least 40 different humans over centuries and holds true, refers to itself, is accurate prophetically and holds no contraditions despite all that shows that the Bible is the inspired Word of God. What does that mean? The worde "inspire" or "inspiration" (you artists use that all the time) means "God Breathe". God through the Holy Spirit told these men what to write and because of that it is consistent through the centuries and through different writers.

2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

Notice the world ALL. Reading your bible is also learning to pick out key words. This verse clearly states the Bible is inspired AND also that the Bible is to be used reproof, correction and instruction. You use it to check what others say. If it agrees with the scriptures then you know it is sound. If it does not agree with scripture then you need to turn from it and warn others of the evil. So this person had it backwards stupidly looking at philosophy and other religions. No wonder it was messing with her brain and giving mental issues. And nothing was adding up and things were only getting worse. No you use the Bible to check when someone tells you something stupid about philosophy or anything else. As for the other religions the stupid thing she told me was they had some measure of truth. That's how the devil gets you. All those religions are false and to be condemned.

Exodus 20:3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;


You should not look at those other religions until you have a FIRM foundation of MANY years having studies the Word and THEN only so you can tear down those false doctrines say.

Hebrews1:1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;


Here again it speaks about how God inspired the prophets of the old testament and the new is by Jesus and the Holy Spirt. This ties in with John 1 also showing again that Jesus was there when He made the World. Most people don't know Jesus is all over the old testament.

The Bible is alive. When you read it, it is reading you. If will show you your sinful condition because it is the Word of truth. It will make you squirm. This same person foolishly said to me once she felt bad when she read the Bible and that "religion shouldn't make you feel that way." Well true Christianity isn't a religion but a relationship. And oh yes sure as shootin' it should make you feel that way. It's called putting you under conviction because even as a Christian you, me everyone continues to sin and we need to repent of that.

You look at that book and it looks at you. The word "quick" means alive or living. It is sharper than any sword. In fact the word of God is also called The Sword.

Ephesians 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

I LOVe Ephesians. Probably one of my fave books of the New Testament. We are living in the age of grace right now but time for that is quickly running out. Jesus is the Word and he's also the Sword which will come when the age of grace or church age is over. When the church will be taken out, raptured, abducted, so that the tribulation can begin. After the 7 years of tribulation (if you think 2020 was bad you ain't seen nothing yet. Those in the tribulation will miss the easy year of 2020) Jesus returns with the sword that proceeds out of his mouth to kill his enemies.

Revelation 1:16 And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.

Revelation 19:15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

That Bible you're holding is a sword.

Revelation 10:10 And I took the little book out of the angel's hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter.

The little book in this passage was God's Word. John consumes it. That's like us reading it. It was sweet in his mouth and bitter in his stomach. Yes some parts of the Bible will life you up, make you feel comfort and joy. It's supposed to. But other parts deal with your sinful condition and will make you feel bad, uncomfortable and squirm because you are a sinner. THAT is how you are SUPPOSED to feel. Some parts are hard to swallow. We all have sin issues we need to work on. Those of us that know this and try to fix it with God's help are in his favor. He knows we can not do it alone so that's why he sent Christ. Another evil religion going around right now are those false churches that only preach happy fluffy emotional stuff for money and to fill seats. They don't teach right doctrine or repentance. I do hate those churches and teachings because they are happily damning souls to Hell. People don't know the truth.

John 8:31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.


Look, it's all about believe. You have to believe in the Word, In the Bible, In Jesus. Then you will know the truth, not looking at stupid "philosophies" and false religions.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

This ties in with "no other gods before me". Jesus is the only truth, the only freedom and the only way to eternal life in heaven with God the Father.

One other thing this person told me was she didn't like the doom and gloom in the bible. There's that fear again. She's a slave to it. I hit her hard for that stupid statement. Are you kidding? Remember all these things are an example. Unbelievers are made an example for us to not follow. The prophecies are warnings for us to escape. God always gives us a way out. It is man that chooses not to. Those that Christ has saved and set free do not fear. These things in the Bible are not scary but our hope. We can't wait to get out of here knowing we have great promise better than anything this world can offer. The only ones this should scare are the lost. Then you DO have reason to fear and staying lost is doom and gloom and WORSE. One other foolish statement I was told.

How can I know what God wants? This was asked as though there was no answer. The answer is super simple. It's the same answer that's been the crutch of all her issues. It's In the Bible!!! God wrote a book for us. It is a guide to life and the answer to everything. This world offers you nothing sure. But the Word is a foundation. That is also why Jesus is the Rock.

1 Corinthians 10:1 Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;
2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;
3 And did all eat the same spiritual meat;
4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.


Mathew 21:42 Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?

Did you never read the scriptures? I share my Lord's frustration with people that ask dumb questions thinking there is no answer in the Bible. "Did you never read you Bible?" I once asked her a simple question about Noah. She didn't know about Noah. Even little five year olds in Sunday school know these basic stories and their lessons. No foundation no wonder the world swallows up people like this. But here again Jesus talks about he is the rock or stone. And quotes

Psalms118:22 The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner.

The rock is the firm foundation. You can count on it. It is absolute. Black and white. No two ways about it. That is wonderful. You can trust nothing and no one else but you can know for a fact these things are true. Jesus is the Rock, The Word, The Sword, The Truth. The Life. Is God's wrath scary? Yes, but not for the believers of his Word/Christ. Get Right and Repent. Here's How.

After that get a KJV Bible and READ it. Learn it and follow the teachings. Go to a Bible Believing church that teaches right doctrine. It's funny that she told me not to tell her things because she has mental issues. I don't care. Most people that have "issues" want to be treated as normal and that's what I do. I also speak truth and make no apologies for it. There are many false Christs out there and she probably has this common nothing that God is a friendly grandpa that smiles and over looks sins because he loves us. Dead Wrong! God Does love us but hates sin and sin can not enter the kingdom. Notice the partial truth. Satan doesn't outright lie to us or it would be obvious. He gives partial truths with a trap. Hence the first lie he told in the garden.

Genesis 3:4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.


The only truth was you will know good and evil. Satan loves to destroy the innocence. This lie is still perpetuating today because Satan wants to be like God lying to us we can be "as gods" as so many hokey religions say. Opening eyes and being "enlightened". Again Jesus is the only way, the only Light.

The promise of Christ to take us out before he pours out His Wrath on this world is our blessed hope. Here is one of the most awesome passages for saved believers. Remember that the word "sleep" means death for born again Christians that have died. Our souls are in heaven but our bodies are here in the earth to be resurrected in the rapture. But not everyone will die. Those that are alive when Christ calls us home will get to go up, be raptured without dying. We are close to that. It could easily be in my lifetime and possibly round the corner with the tons of prophecies that have come to pass since the 1940s.

1 Thessalonians 4:13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

Wherefore comfort one another with these words! Yes. The Bible is real and amazing. Jesus beam me up!

So things are going well. Been very busy. Mostly the bathroom have been annoying. Chris got the old sink out over the weekend but it was glued to the wall so heavily. We're not sure how to get the glue off as using a metal scraper hasn't worked. I'm hoping to borrow some tools but that has majorly slowed everything down as far as starting to paint the darn thing. The master bathroom is all patched and I should start to prime it with white today then work on repairing all the bamboo wallpaper in there. What's annoying is that we need to have both done because we only want the plumber out here once so we only pay him once so it's not good having a hold up.

Art wise I have been very busy. I'm thrilled I got my first interleaved KJV Bible. That means one blank page between every normal page. Lots of room for art. I like my other art one but I've been getting annoyed with the lack of room and that when I want to draw a favorite verse something else is already drawn on it. The only thing is since this is not an offical journaling Bible I'll have to test all my pens and paints to see if it can handle it. The pages are very thin.

I did get some Faber Castell watercolor pencils which I'm happy about. I have to learn how to use them. But I might do better with them than with regular water colors. I used my cheap water colors just to try out a first page.



This is not bad but they are chalky and pale. I think this could have been better with better paints. So I hope the pencils will work for me. I did not draw those words or the Earth. That was already there.

We went to the pet store to pick up some supplies for the birds. We bought new water bottles but unfortunately they don't work. I'm disappointed because I love the colors but they constantly leak. I'm glad I noticed when I did and that I had a cup under them because a third of their water had gone out and the birds were drinking from the cups. But we got a new hanging ring toy I've seen other birds use. Minion was afraid at first but then liked it when I put Nautica on it and he got on. But Nautica wasn't too keen on it because Minion was bothering her. I finally put her there alone and she chewed the ropes but I don't think it's her thing.





The bullet journal is coming along. I'm almost done catching up on the older months. I decided to do summaries of what happened in them and thank goodness for LJ as I was able to get lots of stuff two write about. I'm still working on April then I should be done. Nov and Dec will get one page because I'm out of pages in this book. I'm hoping some art supplies I have ordered from over seas will come in soon. I got one order coming from Japan that's a bunch of budgie stickers and tape. The other is from England. Can't wait.

So I have been very busy. I end up getting very busy and creative this time of year in the Fall. I love it. Ok I can finally talk about this stupid fiasco with the bathroom. Remember I had done up the Master bath all nice to look the the Jurassic Park outhouse and we'd had plumbing work done. After that it started to smell getting worse and worse. I thought because the guy was a smoker it had gotten into the wall but no it was not that. What happened was since we had had the leak mold built up. I could not go into the bathroom at all. This happened when we took out the sink and vanity because I had bought a replacement one. The leak warped the wood and I could not close the doors. So we took out the old sink but could not put in the new one. And then there was the terrible smell. It was so bad I could not sleep in the room. A few nights I had to sleep in my little art room and I'm so glad we had that little pull out bed. So we couldn't finish the project. Chris eventually cut out the bad drywall and washed the walls and everything with bleach. That didn't work. We looked up remedies online. Vinegar was suggested. We tried that. Didn't work. But now the smell was chemical and not smokey mold. I still couldn't go in and we couldn't leave the door open. Without a sink the only thing working was the toilet so basically I had to move all my things to Chris's bathroom the guest bath. So we were using that and taking showers in there. We left the window open in the other room and and all the scrubbing heat and humidity ruined the wallpaper I had put in. The bamboo wall paper. I have a HUGE rant about that paper anyway. I remembered we'd had an incident like this where something was stinking up the house and it turned out to be a wet rag that had dried and was out of sight. I asked Chris if any rags were left behind in my bathroom, but there were none and there as basically nothing in the room. What could be stinking? We'd also been airing out with the fans blowing out an open window and nothing was working. Then Chris realized there was a paper cup under the plumbing fixture that was open. The bad chemicals had gotten into it and absorbed the smell. He took it out and threw it away. Now the bathroom is fine. OMG all these months wasted because of a paper cup. How did we not see it? But I was so thankful and happy he figured it out finally. I was starting to go crazy missing my bathroom and how nice it was. So now we have to fix the whole in the wall, paint it with water proof pain for bathrooms and then get the plumber to come back and install the new sink and cabinet. Then the major stuff will be done there. I will have to fix the wall paper still and if that fails then plan C is to paint the bamboo on as a mural. I know I can do that.

And I'm also remodeling Chris's bathroom. I bought him a new vanity sink, new mirror medicine cabinet and new cabinet. I'll have pics of before and after that. For him he's getting an underwater theme probably of Subnautica (the video game) plants. so that means I have to paint that one wall behind all the cabinets and sink before they go back in. Lots of work before we hire the plumber again. I have considered the possibility we'll have to wash our faces, hands and brush our teeth in the kitchen til this is all over.

Speaking of art. I am working on my Bullet Journal again. I'm working hard to try and finish October. I'm already a week behind. I can't believe I've been Bullet Journaling for a year. And I ran out of room in my book. I have two pages left so I will just squeeze Nov and Dec into them as a basic calandar. Then in Janurary I can start a new book. I'll finally use one of those Scribbles That Matter that gave me such a hard time when I ordered the different colors. You guys know I hold grudges forever and I am still not happy about the stupidity with that company. So it's been rather busy in a good way. I'm very happy.

Well I was right in yesterday's post. I was out all day. I headed out to Treasure Island again to test out most of my new gear. I got there right after a light storm so there was hardly anyone left on the beach. My new snorkel works fine. Though it's a bit big for my mouth. I can get used to it. Or get a kid's one. The mask has two problem. One: the glass presses on the bridge of my nose and hurts. I won't be able to go deep with it if that's the case as the pressure will make it worse. Two, the nose fills up with water a bit so that even though I'm not breathing in the salt water still stings. I had it fully tight so that's a problem. I may have to keep looking for a better mask but for now it does work and is better than nothing. I did film but my gopro shuts off the screen after a few seconds and there's nothing I can do about it. Not that I know. So I can't tell if I'm recording. I got 90% bad footage. This next video won't have much underwater stuff. I did find some decent shells and had a good time. The only bad thing that happened was that I dropped my nice Simple Modern thermos in the parking lot and it got dented. I love that thing. But I didn't find many shells and as always went to the shell shop that is walking distance from where I park and bought some goodies to make up for the lack of find. I'll make a video shortly. So, I'm thinking Treasure Island sucks for shells. Actually pretty much I think all our beaches do. It's because the current runs north to south and all our barrier islands are north to south. Sanibel gets amazing shells, not just stupid bivalves, because the are the only island running east to west. They also get a sunrise and sunset. We just get sunsets. The pan handle beaches get better shells because they run east west too. I want to try Ft. Desoto in south St Pete because it's a V shaped island that might get some of those northward coming shells. The V points south just like the actual letter. I was surprised when I learned we have cone snails in Florida, but I have never ever seen any in all the times I've been to the coast. Did not find any on this outing.

I got a new Bible the other day. I think I finally found the one for me. It's another purple sword study with all the extra info but most importantly the words of God in red in the old and new testaments. This one is Large Print vs my Giant Print I had. The print is smaller but that's ok. I actually use my travel Bible a lot which has teeny tiny font and I can read it fine. The Giant print one had the problem that the whole Bible was too big and heavy for me. Not something I can carry around for daily reading. So I only have two problems with the Sword Study Bible. For being expensive it has terrible maps in the back. They are made of thin paper and not even colored. Chris's blue Bible has the best maps I've seen in glossy paper, bright colors and even shows the mission travels of Paul and other neat things. And that's a "cheap" Bible. Guess Sword Study ran out of funding at the end. Heh heh. And the other thing is I like headers in the chapters and within chapters when subjects change. Oh and two more ribbons would have been nice. So my perfect Bible would have these things.

* King James Version
* Soft leather or leather like cover. Soft and squishy
* Light or decent weight. Easy to carry.
* Large font without the book becoming huge.
* Red letters on both testaments. This is major. I'm spoiled now that I've had both.
* Subject headers at the start of each chapter and within chapter subject changes
* Several beautiful maps in color on glossy paper
* Different reading plans in the back, index, concordance, etc usual stuff at the back.
* Minimum of three silky colorful ribbons matching the cover color
* Pretty cover colors to choose from: turquoise, neon green, neon pink, light purple, coral, pale yellow, white
* (optional) margins on the side to write or draw. I can do with out this because I know this would negate the large print and make the Bible bigger and heavier. So for this I think there should be an Interleaved version with the points above with medium point font to keep the size small. Interleaved is a blank page after every page making it wider unfortunately. But that would be the artist's Bible for full page art in each chapter almost.

I'm very happy with the progress I have made in my room. It's starting to look really nice and is really becoming my own little oasis that I enjoy locking myself into and taking refuge in. So I finally have a pic of the shelf Chris helped me build.



It's so pretty and colorful. Though the wall is blue it's a pale bland blue. I hope to repaint it at some point. Notice the brackets holding the shelf up are green. I painted those. I love the pink stripe on the edge too. Now originally that was going to be a coral color. But when I went to the paint section of Walmart it had been ransacked. There were hardly any paints left. They had three neon pinks left so I went for that since pink and green is also a great combination. It took several coats but finally got it done. Thank you [livejournal.com profile] marchskies for the awesome camera arm. You can see it in the center of the shelf. It's a gorgeous blue. And it will help me make videos of my art from an over head view. But I'm still getting used to how to position it.



I got these raven book ends yesterday and I love them. They are baby ravens. They are anatomically correct but because they are fat, short and stubby billed these are babies. They aren't very heavy though so I would not use them with heavy books.

I am feeling sooo much better now. I can safely say I am over being sick. It's nice to have a normal energy level again. Christmas gifts are still slowly trickling in for me. So soon I think I can do the part 2 haul photo. Well I'm almost done with cards. Here are a bunch that went out yesterday.



That's about half of them. I need to send out about that many more still. But everyone here on LJ will get theirs. I updated my address book after doing this because it's both funny and annoying to see so many former friends on there from over the years that have either turned traitor, I've had to dump or just disappeared without a trace. So new book for the new year and up to date. New friends too so it always balances out. Out with the old in with the new is the famous phrase.

I made a cute little print out of the Books of the Bible on a shelf. It's a check list for if you want to read the whole thing you can do so out of order. You can dowload and print it at home HERE. Save the image then open it in your picture viewer and it should have an option to print. Chris has gotten far and colored in the New Testament. Chris's page. This is how you view it. You can color the shelf too. He's already further than this. Here's Mine. I've only just started so only four books for me so far. I'm on Psalms now which is the biggest book so it will be a while before I color another one. I'll post these again when they are finished. I have read the Bible through twice back when I was in high school.

My Art Year In Review.



January we have the presentation of a new character The Doctor. I hope to draw him more soon.
February. No colored art but I made this sketch based on a lovely dream I had where both Chris and I were my character Fear. Well, this is the month I had my second surgery so not much art was made. Gosh I can't believe that was this year. Seems way longer than that. Had gall stones so I had my gall bladder removed and I was in bed for several weeks.
March Conspiracy of Fear . The remake of my masterpiece. I fixed this drawing up. The biggest changes were the green mouth plus added more colored highlights. I'm still working on this piece for something special.
April Alone in Fear . At last this is finished. A drawing I made last year as a gift for my aunt. Inspired by the lovely forest and rivers on her property.
May I AM FEAR Several remakes. The major change to this and most of them is adding in his green mouth.
June Fear In The Sky This piece turned out so nice I have many plans for it still. Fear greets the sunrise from the mountains.
July Fear Amused My thank you card I toss in as a bonus for people the I do commissions for, that I have done business with or that I just want to say thanks to.
August Terror In Waiting A mood piece that turned out nicer than expected. He has become my water mark on some pieces.
September No Hard Feelings Easily one of my all time fave pieces now for the vibrant colors and how frightening these two are.
October Fear and Death Halloween 2018 My fave drawing from my Bullet Journal. The main piece of the last week of Oct. Fear and his brother death.
November Got You Buddy This is also a fave of this year. I love this part of the Triangulum game story. George rescues Fear.
December This year's Christmas card. The winter version of Fear in the Sky for mailing out. I should get those today so I can start sending them out to everyone.
Bonus. The cover of my Bullet Journal. Appropriate that it features Bullet.

Ok so time for the New Year's Questionnaire. I love filling this out every year. I will post the blank version again. The old one is here and on DA but we might need a more recent one that's easier to find than going through the tags. Also I have added new questions as many holidays where left out.

1. What did you do this past year that you have never done before? Saw the Fall leaves. As Floridians that was a new and wonderful experience for us.

2. Did you keep your new years resolutions, and will you make more for next year? Yes and No. I kept some but not others. More on that at the end. Yes I will make new ones. I'm a goal setter. I'm constantly setting goals not just for new years. My J nature makes that easy.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth? No thank goodness. I don't need to lose more friends. They'd be gone for 18 years.

4. Did anyone close to you die? Just some of my birds. Sadly Optic my sweet blue budgie girl passed away. I do miss her.

5. What new states or countries did you visit. If not new did you travel for fun? Nothing new but we went to Georgia and North Carolina again in the Fall. We had a blast going to my aunt's house. Seeing the leaves, and seeing ACTipton80. That was the only big trip this year really.

6. What would you like to have in the new year that you lacked in this past year? I don't know. More money. Can never have enough of that. But I haven't lacked much. I've been quite good. Lots to be thankful for.

7. What dates from this year remain etched in your mind and why? The Trip at the end of October. It's the highlight of the year for me.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? Cleaning out the garage and getting the jeep inside. Major goal met. Woo. I'm still very proud of myself over that one. Oh and attaining one of my mother's assets.

9. What was your biggest failure? Probably not being able to get rid of my mother's stuff still.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury? Yes. In February I had to go to the ER again for pain. I had gall stones and had my gall bladder removed. Two surgeries at the start of each new year. I don't want this to be a trend. I also got a cold in December. It had been over a year since I had a cold. It knocked me down for two weeks.

11. What was the best thing you bought? Hum, what I bought and what others bought me is a big blur this year. I'm not really sure. Perhaps my Fear mask. It was expensive but so worth the cost. I'm still working on it and it has turned out great. Still a work in progress.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration? Well all my awesome friends in the Raptor Pack. You guys are great. Actiption, Joker, Samantha, Kabuldur, basically if you got a card from me this year you rock. My real life friends and family too.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled? No one. At least no one in my inner circle. Helps when you get rid of the bad eggs. This year has been great socially.

14. Where did most of your money go? Amazon. Not just for me but for gifts I got others too.

15. What did you get really excited about? My trip. Every year when there is a trip it's what I look forward to more than anything.

16. What do you wish you’d done more of? Traveling. Organizing the house. Drawing though I managed to fill out the whole year with art though just barely.

17. What do you wish you’d done less of? Wasting time. I did a lot this year but could have done even better.

18. How did you spend Valentine's? Hum, I don't remember. February we either celebrate the 4th which is our anniversary or Valentine's. Usually depends on what is closer to a day off for us. Unfortunately nothing big. I think we just got each other gifts. Oh wait we didn't do anything. That's the month I had surgery and was down. No wonder I don't remember much. Well we have to make up for that this February then....I hope.

19. How did you Spend Easter? And I think I still wasn't well for Easter either as I don't think we did anything big unfortunately.

21. How did you spend Halloween? Halloween was awesome. It was our trip up north. We got to see the Fall leaves. I visited ACTipton. I brought Bullet with me though she was sick. I dressed up as Scary Fear and made a very nice music video of him. My costume was cool. We bought pumpkins in Georgia at Burt's Pumpkin Patch. The highlight of the year with the 4th being a close second.

22. How did you spend Thanksgiving? We had a quiet Thanksgiving at home. I was much better and decorated the house all nice. At least the small space I have in the kitchen. 23. How did you spend Christmas? Christmas was great. We went to visit Chris's parents and family. We got lots of gifts. We had a very nice time. Then the next day we had a quiet Christmas. Opened our own gifts and those of friends. Then that evening we visited Mike at his party which was a last minute invitation.

24. What was your favorite TV program? Travelers. I think I discovered that last year but season 3 finally came out this year and we enjoyed it very much. It ended well and we hope it's over actually because we don't want them to screw it up. Leave well enough alone. Funny enough I've started watching the cartoon Spirit. Based on the Dreamworks movie. I love that movie. The TV show doesn't have good art but I think I like it. Can't say yet but will watch more eps.

25. Did you make any enemies this year? Nope but old enemies have been replaced and then some.

26. Did you read any new books. If so which did you like best? Well Joker gave me the Jurassic Park Employee Handbook. I don't think I'll finish it in two days...well I guess I could but I'm reading that.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery? The new Victorius Album Dinosaur Warefare. Also finally getting a hold of the SpongeBob soundtrack. The background music not the dumb incomplete CD's they officially have out. The instrumental stuff really helps make the show.

28. What did you want and get? Oh gosh lots of stuff. Let's see. 150 prisma colored pencils, Mosasaur figure, grow lights, backpacks, Bullet Journal, and a bunch of other cool stuff. Not just for Christmas but over the whole year.

29. What did you want and not get? The Ian Malcolm book. It got pulled from Amazon for copyright reasons. The jerks. A headset stand that got discontinued. A Bible I can't quite afford just yet. And a replacement for my truncata F plant.

30. Did you see any new movies this year? And if so which did you like best? I saw Venom in the theaters with Chris. That was good. But I don't really watch movies much anymore in theaters.

32. What is one thing that would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? Looking back this has been an awesome year. I guess traveling more and meeting my other friends. I think about that a lot. I got spoiled by the 2017 road trip to Canada to see CVersailles.

33. Did you meet anyone new you became good friends with? Not anyone new in real life but I met Peregrine in September I think it was. We only had a few hours but it was our second meeting and we had a great time. Her and I have become closer friends and we really enjoyed each others' company. It was such a fun day driving around and doing fun things at my house. I have lots of new online friends though. Me a buddy on youtube that I trade plants with.

34. What video game obsessions did you have this year if any? Red Dead Redemption 2. I had not expected that to happen. Chris pre-ordered it and was all excited. I really didn't care since an ex friend a few years ago had ruined the first game for me. But I watched Chris play when he finally got his. Unfortunately he didn't like the game but I was hooked and wanted to see more from the little he played. And then Peregrine got it and kept talking about it on texts. So I started my own game and have been playing ever since. We make the joke that it's as though Chris got it for me. Plus the fact the way I have Arthur dressed, and how he sounds and his personality is just like George. Yeah I'm loving this game and how much better it looks on the new consoles.

35. Was your online time good, bad , same compared to last year? Good and better.

36. What hobbies did you improve, start or work more on this year? Basically how was your creativity this

year?
I got into Bullet Journaling. I got out of it during my vacation but hope to do better with it this new year. It's a lot of fun making your own planner, setting goals and putting in your own art. Now with my new pencils this should help a lot. And I blame this on Peregrine but I participated in inktober for the first time and actually finished it. I drew something each day, even on my trip, on index cards.

37. Which holiday did you enjoy most this year? Halloween and Chris's birthday. Close second was 4th of July.

Last Year's Resolutions

* Get jeep in the garage. YES!! Finished before October I think.
* Get rid of mother's junk and our excess junk. No. Came so close. I got sick two weeks in December and this got really screwed up. I think we could have done it. We cleared out more room in the garage and then that happened.

Resolutions for 2019

* Finish getting rid of mother's stuff and possibly ours by April 1. I think that's a good time frame and don't need a whole year to finish. Could give myself more time but enough's enough already.
* Travel more. Try to do a road trip on my own again.
* Face my driving phobia. This one is kind of related to the top one if I take another road trip. I hope I can. It's harder now and all in my head.
* Meet more Raptors in person.
* Draw more. Make more comics. Finish Renegade and Dawn of Fear.
* Finish tagging LJ for pete's sake.
* Grow veggies either indoors or out. Grow tomatoes and chives.
* Manage my money better. Save more for the big goals like...
* New Tires and Wheels
* New door art or JP
* Fear Wings

Ok that's enough as those are major goals. The last three I don't have to do all of them but so long as I do one of those it would be good. All very expensive so I can probably only do one.

Usually I'm good at keeping track of the weather but I haven't paid attention to it for a week now. So yesterday afternoon a huge storm came in that's very unusual for our area. It's not like Tampa and Lutz that get the dangerous lightning storms that cause you to lose power and fries all your electronics. So the wind kicked up, the rain was heavy and the lights were flickering. Three circuit breakers went out so I lost power in the living room and kitchen for a bit. But I kept right on working. Chris later told me about tropical storm Gordon. What? I had no idea. So that's what that was. Haha. By the time I checked the radar it was already out in the gulf heading north west. Oh well not my problem anymore. Most Floridians don't freak out about storms anyway until they reach category 2 hurricane. I even mentioned to Chris it was only 60mph. Not so bad. Makes me think of the scene in ID4 where Will Smith wakes up and asks if there's an earthquake. His wife goes, "Not even a 4 pointer. Go back to sleep." And he does. That's what it's like here with storms.

Our land line is back. Chris found out what was wrong. We have a wall mirror. It had fallen over and pulled the cord out of the wall. I knew the mirror had fallen but didn't think anything of it. I'm glad it wasn't something that the service provider had to fix. It was nice having peace and quiet but I'm glad I don't have to use my crappy cell phone anymore in the house. It works great everywhere else but my house.

And more good News. Bullet seems better. Yesterday I was very worried but last night Chris pointed out she looked almost normal. The other night she did throw up one seed that I saw. But last night she stuffed herself. I think her strategy is to eat everything. Her crop sticks out and is round and hard. She hopes SOMETHING has to pass through. So I was happy to see her tight feathered and slightly active. Today she looks good. So I have to make sure to keep her food filled so she can just constantly eat and stay full. So I won't be posting the depressing video I had filmed yesterday but I will post an update video on her soon.

Hoya archiboldiana finally bloomed for me. I call this plant Octopus suction cups. It's waxy and hard feeling. Biggest hoya. I've had it for years so I'm glad it's finally bloomed.



Starfish plant bud. This thing is huge. About the size of a tennis ball. I can't wait for it to open.

I'm very happy to have finished my first page in my Bible and I'm thrilled with how it turned out. Well almost finished. I still have to add the gourd tip-in. I'll go out and get the paper for that tonight. But here's the page.



I had to go out to the store and get some individual grey pencils because my set I bought doesn't come with greys. That's very bad. I hadn't realized how much I actually use greys. So I used them in the storm and on the whale. I LOVE this whale. Every time I have drawn a sperm whale it has always come out nice. I don't know why I seem to have a knack for drawing them. Ok let me post a close up of this now.

So much has been going on the last few days for me. I'm very excited about learning a new art form. So this all started before Peregrine came over to visit me. I don't know the exact date but I knew I wanted to get her a new Bible. I had gotten her one last year but it wasn't the best one. I began to do an Amazon search and discovered there were Bible Journals. When I was growing up Bibles were not every exciting. As far as the looks go. The message is wonderful of course but it doesn't help kids when you have a huge book, with tiny font and bland covers that are black or brown. I had a brown one growing up that I never liked much. But now I find out there are colorful Bibles out there that encourage you to write and color in them about whatever the Lord speaks to you. As an artist I was thrilled about this. I had only seen the floral version of My Creative Bible which is the one I got for my friend since she's an artist too. It comes in a lovely box and has so many cute birds and fancy text to color. I'm not into flowers though. Too girly for me. BUT then I found there were variant covers and there was a turquoise one. Perfect. I ordered one for myself not long after I placed her order. It came in a few days ago. It's a King James Version which is my fave translation.

I ordered some colored pencils because I knew that those are the safest since Bible pages are so thin. I didn't want inks or paint to bleed through. After doing some research I decided to order a box of 48 Prismacolored pencils.



They are supposed to blend well, be soft and are professional artist quality. I also got the Crayola twistables 30 pack because I was impatiently awaiting for the prismacolors to arrive. They are not in the box because I have put them into a cup. It was very hard getting those in and out of the box so into a cup they went. I'm still learning how to use the prismacolors. Another thing I liked about them is that they look like paint and not like pencils. Though I have not mastered how to get that look yet. I have always hated crayons and colored pencils for leaving that white grainy area when you color on paper. That looks so unprofessional to me. I have never liked most traditional art. Digital art is my true calling and was so glad when it became available to the public in the 90s. So I am a bit frustrated that I haven't quite figured this whole traditional art thing out yet. But I know I haven't been at it long. Less than a week. I didn't master digital art right away. I've been doing it for two decades now. But yeah I wish my skills were parallel in both fields. I'm always that frustrated when I start anything new though. I'll keep at it and will improve. So I don't know yet if I want to invest in the full 150 set. They are expensive. I've already run into the problem of no greys. The next set up is the 72 and it has some greys. Using black lightly does not work. I need greys. If I can get to the level I want to be and master blending and shading then I definitely want to get the full set. My aunt is an artist. Perhaps she can help me when I go visit her.

Ok so back to the story. I have been watching lots of tutorials on Bible Journaling and am watching this one lady on youtube that does amazing things. She even water colors her pages and they don't get bleed through. I'm not brave enough for that. I hated water color as a kid too. Traditional art was just never my thing. But anyway, I learned about a thing called Tip In. You get this see through paper called Vellum and draw on it then insert it in as extra pages. It looks very pretty and books still close like they are part of the pages. Here's one I made.



Too big and I'm not a fan of how pale it turned out. I did like adding the glitter pen. I didn't permanently glue it in yet. So then I decided to do what I am good at and color it in photoshop.



Beautiful! And I test printed it on Vellum. It looked good but the paint streaks. That's ok. I found out there's a specific kind I can get for printing. So I will be doing that from now on for these. I can't wait to print my first one. Also perhaps these will turn out better if I use my prismacolors. I did the other one with Crayolas. One thing that's hard for me is I don't have lots of strength and I see people really pressing their pencils in. Sigh, yet another thing I have never liked much.
