thagirionThere is a famous hymn called It Is Well With My Soul written by Horatio Spafford. This song has touched many lives over the centuries because it is taken straight out of the scriptures. When a song uses scriptures properly it is so blessed and becomes powerful because you are singing the words of God. Another thing that impresses me is the history of this song and how it is steeped in tragedy. I have no doubt that there was a Satanic influence at work trying to stop this song from getting out. This song is written for Christians/saints, those of us that are born again believers and have accepted Christ in our lives. When you are born again and have Christ he gives you a peace that you do not fear the things of this world no matter what the world throws at you. Everyone's afraid of the stupid virus right now. Don't be. It's not that bad. The media and the world is lying to you. You face things on a daily basis far more deadly. They say if the media posted the amount of daily deaths due to car accidents no one would ever get in a car again. God won't let you die before your time. And don't fear death. If you're born again then you die and you get to be with Jesus which is way better than being here so why are you scared? This song is about assurance of salvation as well. Once saved always saved. Nothing can separate you from Christ once you accept him. Not even your own screw ups thank the Lord. And thirdly this song is also about the rapture our blessed hope. We are the church. The church is not a building or an organization. We the saints/believers are the church. We are the body of Christ. This is why the Church can not be destroyed. It can not be "closed". Boo hoo my church was "closed", no it wasn't. You are the church, the body of Christ. You only need a minimum of two people to have a congregation.
Mathew 18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
Those are Words of Christ.
Chris and I are a church. We read together and pray together and meditate (discuss) on the Word. And what does the church (the bride of Christ) want more than anything? We want to be taken home. Raptured. We are waiting for the rapture which is the Blessed Hope. The greatest comfort we have. Don't wait around for better! You wait for Jesus. There will NEVER be a "better" in this world. You are not of this world anymore. What you're really waiting and longing for is Jesus to take you home. And we the church will not go through the tribulation/wrath. The word "wrath" in the Bible always means the tribulation when God will send his plagues and punishments on this earth and its inhabitants. That's the age of Tribulation that lasts seven years. We are in the Church Age or Age of Grace. We are under Grace and the blood of Christ which is why we are forgiven for horrible things and sins if we repent and accept and chose to follow Him.
1 Thesselonians 5:9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,

The "her" in this verse is referring to Jerusalem. Rivers and fountains in the Bible are usually compared to life or the Life that Christ gives to those that accept him.

"Attendeth my way". Once we are saved we are to follow Jesus or the Word. It's not a religion like the catholics thing with all these stupid rituals. It is a relationship. A WALK. A WAY. A PATH. Jesus is the Word.

In the Bible troubles, trails and tests are usually referred to in the context of storms. Especially storms on the ocean. Becoming a Christian does not mean you will have it easy. In fact you will have it worse. Before you were the devil's so he did not pay attention to you. Now you have a target on your back. The closer you get to God the more problems you will face. I remember when I got saved. I was only 11 and was searching for Jesus and what salvation meant. My teacher explained it to my and in my nievity and idealism I asked her that now things would get better? I thought that my problems would go away because God was on my side. Ha ha, she told me things will not get better. I was disappointed but despite that I still wanted salvation very badly. It not dissuade me. Jesus even told us things will be bad.
John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
God is in control. It's all part of his plan. He's still on the throne. The world hated Jesus why would it love you? He said so himself too.
John 15:18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated Me before it hated you.
Earlier I said we are not of this world. Here Jesus continues to tell us this.
John 15:19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.
So just accept this world is a terrible place that will only get worse and worse. Accept you are not of this world so you will never fit in. And be happy because Jesus is coming back for you to take you to a better place.
John 14: 1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

There's that mention of the way again in verse 4. Jesus promised he's coming back for us. Even if you die, you go to heaven then he'll resurrect you a perfect body when he comes back for the rest of us. And we all hope when he does we'll be alive. Some of us won't ever get to die. We'll just get a new perfect body and go up. More on that later.

So you see no matter how bad you have it, you have an illness, you lost your job, you lost a loved one, you lost all you own, your friends abandoned you and so on, you still have Christ. You still have hope. You can not lose salvation. Here is the most difficult verse in the Bible.
Romans 8:28:And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Key word is ALL. All means ALL. That means all those bad things that happen to you. Read the book of Job if you want to know more about bad things happening to good people. God makes a deal with the devil and Job's life gets dumped on. But by not losing faith God restores him in the end. It's hard to praise him through the storm and know that whatever evil befalls as is for our own good and/or the glory of God. That's hard especially since we can't see the future like God can. But with faith God gets us through the storms. And so all is well with our soul.

2 Corinthians 12:7 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.
So that verse is taken right out of Paul's writing about his own health problems that hinder him. Some problems are from the devil or his underlings.

Jesus told us things would be hard for us. We will have trails and tribulations, but always trust in Christ. He has overcome the world.

There's that walk again. We walk/follow Jesus through faith. The church age is not about signs and wonders. That was old testament dispensation and early church age for the Jews. It will be so again during the tribulation. But the church is about faith. So any church that has signs and wonders like the catholics or charismatics doing "miracles" that is not of God. Faith and faith alone. BUT when Jesus returns for the church and raptures us away it will no longer be faith alone. We'll see Jesus which will no longer require faith and it will be wonderful.
Titus 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
See the rapture when we see Jesus appear in the clouds is our blessed hope. It is THEE hope all born again believers have. It is the better we are waiting for.

That will be awesome. Now this is the rapture of the church. It's not the second coming because Jesus's feet never touch the ground. We go to be with him like it said in John 14. " that where I am, there ye may be also." We meet him in the clouds and he takes us up to heaven to the wedding and our mansions. Also the Judgement Seat of Christ which is for Christians to try our works AFTER salvation. The trail is what cleans up and gets the bride (us) ready for the wedding and then we return WITH Christ in the second coming to rule and reign over the earth for 1000 years. By the way, Trumpets in the Revelation are for angels while Trump and Trumpet of God are for the church and raptures.

Even so, means despite this. When that happens the world will be in chaos. The lost people will be scared as million disappear before their eyes and dead people come back to life and then disappear too. Here's the other crazy part of it. Innocent children and unborn babies will be raptured out of mother's bellies. Yeah for the lost is will be terrible and then they get 7 years of the anichrist. But for us we can't wait for the rapture.
Revelation 22:20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
Even so, come Lord Jesus. That is our main prayer and blessed hope. We are to continue living our lives normally but giving out the gospel to as many as we can always hoping for his return and appearing. Not living in fear.
