I'm very happy to have finished my first page in my Bible and I'm thrilled with how it turned out. Well almost finished. I still have to add the gourd tip-in. I'll go out and get the paper for that tonight. But here's the page.

I had to go out to the store and get some individual grey pencils because my set I bought doesn't come with greys. That's very bad. I hadn't realized how much I actually use greys. So I used them in the storm and on the whale. I LOVE this whale. Every time I have drawn a sperm whale it has always come out nice. I don't know why I seem to have a knack for drawing them. Ok let me post a close up of this now.

Here's a close up. I tried to make the lightning white at first but didn't work. The gel pens don't write well on waxy pencil I found out. More on that later and how annoying it was. But the yellow glitter gel pen worked so it's now yellow lightning instead of white. If you look closely you'll see tiny Jonah as a black stick figure. I think I have vastly improved in coloring since I started this a few days ago. I think my blending is getting better. I need to practice it more. And my whale is awesome. I liked adding dots and details to him. The problem I had was I wanted to write the verse where it mentions a whale from the New TEstament. I wanted to write it in orange gel on the water but no color and no type of pen worked. I had to erase and it's still messed up. So I wrote most of it across the top and part at the bottom and still had a bit of a hard time with the pencil being too waxy for my pens. Last time this wasn't an issue. I don't know if using the white pencil as a blender messed everything up for pen writing. I'll have to keep this in mind for next time. So now only I can read my sloppy writing. Other than that I am very happy with how this turned out. Though I'm going through Job now I feel I should color that first page of Micah so it's balanced better. So that's it for now. If I remember anything else I'll edit this.
