Yesterday we started our day by going to Acropolis again. We got burgers this time. They were good. We then came home and worked in the yard. I started to empty the first big green lotus pool but it started to rain. It rained on and off so we were in and out between storms and then finally the big storm came that lasted the rest of the day. I was rather annoyed we didn't finish but it couldn't be helped. We didn't know it would rain like that. The good thing is I did get all the lotus tubers out of the green pool. These are the Space 36 tubers. I'm amazed how many there were because when I bought this lotus last year there was only one. So the rain was a cold front. This morning it's a sucky 48F. I hope I can at least finish that pool as we'll only have a high of 60. I'm cold sensitive and I'd be working with water and mud.
So we took a break inside and then later went out. Chris took me to the dollar store and I was thrilled at the stuff I found there. I wanted to get plastic boxes to store the extra lotus tubers that I plan to sell and label them. They had some and more. It's almost Spring now so there was a lot of great garden stuff. Some very nice pots for lotuses and for hoyas in my fave colors. Chris got me some and I'll definitely have to go back soon for more. The thing about dollar stores is that it's clearance stuff so if you find something you like buy as much as you can because you'll never see it again. I got two more knee pads because we only had one and we've been sharing which means taking turns. Now we can both work on the ground at the same time. I got some soft wire ties for orchids and hoyas. And they just had so much great garden stuff for one dollar. I was excited.
Then we went to Lowes and Chris got me more top soil for the garden. It was also super cheap. It's just heavy so though I can afford it I can't buy it if I'm by myself. So then after that we went to our fave sushi place. The owners know us now and are nice. We enjoy talking to them. When we got home we'd gotten paid and it was a good one. So I decided to order two lotuses. One was Big Versicolor which is one I missed out on last year because they sold out. The other one was a new one called Golden Sunset which is the first orange lotus. It's a coral color and will fade to yellow. I'm excited about that as I think coral or light orange is one of my fave flower colors. Only Chinese Red Beijing is the only one from last year I need to get still that is a priority. Golden Sunset is the most expensive one I've gotten though and Red Bejing is not far behind so I can't do that one right now. I hope I can get Red Bejing this year before they stop selling in last spring. But if I can I'll be done with all priority plants at last. Anything else on my list can be gotten eventually. Lotuses go on sale in the Fall and if you don't get them by Spring you've missed out til next year.
So I have chores to do today AND I have to pack. This is the worst procrastinating I have ever done for a trip. I hope I can finish everything today. I'll do my best so I need to go now. This cold weather is not helping. But I'm looking forward to going the the conference in Miami tomorrow.

Here is the seller's video with annoying Chinese music. But it's a lovely lotus.

I did get to finish one pool but it took way to long. Now I have to finish everything else before tomorrow.

Hope you get packed for your trip in time. And have a good time!
